Merthyr Tydfil Walking and Cycling event
The weekend of 5th-6th July saw the Merthyr Tydfil Walking and Cycling Weekend, which was run in association with Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council.
Over 135 people took part in event which included bike rides around the Taff Trail and walks from Cyfartha Castle to Morlais Castle.
Merthyr Tydfil’s vast cycling network, over 80 miles of public footpaths and the close proximity to the Brecon Beacons National Park make it a brilliant location for everyone who wanted to get out and about.
The weekend had something to offer everyone. From exploring the beautiful landscapes, learning about the area’s cultural heritage to the Family Fun-day at Rhyd-y-Car Leisure Centre which marked the end of the event. Miller Argent’s stall at the Fun-day displayed some of the million year old fossils excavated from the Ffos-y-fran site. If you missed out this year, you’ll have to make sure to come along next time.
Neil Brown, Managing Director at Miller Argent said: “It was lovely to see everyone out and about and enjoying themselves in some fabulous weather. At Miller Argent, we are committed to healthy lifestyles, and events like this can only be a good thing.”
