Miller Argent has contributed £5 million to community fund

We are celebrating a milestone of extracting 5 million tonnes of coal from their Ffos-y-fran site. This has allowed the company to contribute £5 million to the community benefit fund administered by Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council.

This fund has benefitted a wide range of community groups and causes in the surrounding area.

Recently the fund contributed £600,000 towards the restoration of the famous Red House in Merthyr. The Fir Tree House in Treharris also received £185,000 for a new multi-purpose community centre and Merthyr Tydfil Football Club was awarded £500,000 for an all-new 3G synthetic football pitch. Alongside these large grants the small and intermediate grant schemes ensure that smaller organisations benefit too.
