Fochriw Primary kitted out for action!

Fochriw Primary’s football team stepped out in style for the annual ‘Croeso Cup’ final thanks their brand new kit donated by Miller Argent.

The end of term football tournament which went ahead on the 12th July and featured 7 teams from 5 primary schools from across Upper Rhymney Valley Cluster.  Fochriw fielded one team, including pupils from years, 4,5 and 6 (aged 8-11).

Fochriw’s players had a great run and came in 3rd place with Brynawel ‘A’ team beating upper Rhymney in the final. The girls team had their first opportunity to wear the kit in a friendly against Brynawel girls. Girls aged 8-10 sported the new kit with pride.

Mrs Pascoe, Head Teacher of Fochriw Primary School said, “I would like to thank Miller Argent for agreeing to fund our small school with big potential, with such a fantastic modern football strip. I know the children will love playing in it.”

Feedback from the team players was equally positive, Robbie Morgan aged 11 said “Our brand new kit is much better than the plain blue kit we had before, the colours are brilliant.

The sentiment was echoed by another team member Jasmine Morgan, aged 9 who added, “We look smart like the other teams now. We actually look a lot better.”

Goal Keeper Daniel Harris aged 11 commented, “I love our new kit. The colours of the kit are great, especially the goalkeeper kit. I’m glad I had the chance to wear it before I go to comp in September.”
